INTEGRATED EDUCATION

As a life-improving university, which is a university that continues to develop life, Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya has been developing innovative and superior programs, including developing a new campus in Pakuwon City Laguna with the concept of INTEGRATED HEALTH SCIENCES CAMPUS, where the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Psychology, and Faculty of Philosophy are located in one integrated campus. The concept of INTEGRATED HEALTH SCIENCES CAMPUS & EDUCATION refers to an integration of holistic health sciences, which include mental, physical and spiritual health. The existence of these faculties under one campus roof is expected to facilitate the interaction of academics in various educational activities, research and community services. One of them is the learning process in the form of interactive discussions across the Study Programs. Through these joint activities, students will not only excel in the one discipline that they choose to learn, but also have broad insight and multidisciplinary abilities, .

In addition, a dual program and cross-study program have been developed, where students can take courses outside of their Study Program to support their competence.

DUAL DEGREE PROGRAM

WIDYA MANDALA CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY SURABAYA had also launched a DUAL DEGREE PROGRAM for the Chemical Engineering Study Program with National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) in Taiwan. The program was implemented with the first 2-year study scheme at WIDYA MANDALA CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY SURABAYA and then 2 years of study at NTUST. The benefits obtained by students are the experience of lectures with international standards, the ease of taking studies in Taiwan, and the opportunity to gain advanced study scholarships (postgraduate) at NTUST, plus a certification of learning Chinese language.

In addition to NTUST, cooperation with other foreign universities, such as an articulation program with Adelaide University Australia, a dual degree program between the Food Technology Study Program with THE UNIVERSITY OF NEWCASTLE, AUSTRALIA, various student exchange programs with Saint Louis College Bangkok, University of St. Tomas – Philippines, De La Salle University in Dasmariňas – Philippines, Vancouver Island University – Canada, and an accountant certification program with Singapore Accountancy Academy (SAA Global Education Center).

QUALITY OF EDUCATION

All Departments / Study Programs have been accredited A and B by the National Accreditation Body for Higher Education from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (or BAN-PT Dikti). Various achievements have also been achieved by winning the Competition Grants Program to improve the quality of education with the funds received from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, namely the Technological and Professional Skills Development Sector Project (TPSDP) for the Department of Chemical Engineering, A-2 Competition Grants Program for the English Language, Psychology and Pharmacy Study Programs, and Computerized Program for Library, A-3 Competition Grant Program (PHK) for the Management Study Program, I-MHERE Grant to increase relevance and quality, social responsibility and institutional capacity, soft skills Program Grants, Grants Communication & Consultation Forum Program, Grant for Strengthening DP2M Institutions for the Research and Community Service Insitute of WMCUS, Institution-Based Competition Grants (PHKI), Competition Grants for institutional strengthening of the International Affairs Office, as well as private higher education coaching programs.

WMCUS is a university that is recognized for its quality as one of the 50 Promising Indonesian Universities by the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as being awarded the Top 5 Universities in the field of Governance, Student Affairs, and Community Service and Research from the 7th Region of the Coordination Body of Private Universities (Kopertis) in East Java.

The Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, with its letter number 492.a/M/Kp/VIII/2015 regarding Classification and Ranking of Universities in Indonesia 2015 (dan be seen here) has declared the following are WMCUS achievements at the national level; Ranked 28 out of a total of 3320 Universities (PTN / PTS) in Indonesia; Ranked 6th of the total of all Private Universities in Indonesia. The ranking is based on 4 (four) criteria, which are:
a. the quality of human resources;
b. the quality of management;
c. the quality of student activities; and
d. the quality of research and scientific publications.

At the 7th Region of the Coordination Body for Private Universities (Kopertis) in East Java, WMCUS is always included in the top 5 (five) Leading Universities as evidenced by successive Higher Education Awards since 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 to 2015.

The following is the 2015 data from the 2015 East Java Kopertis 7th Region Level of Achievement from a total of 331 Private Universities in the entire province of East Java:
