Salah satu manfaat buah pare adalah dan membantu menurunkan kadar gula darah dan mendukung kerja obat sintetik berbahan aktif metformin dan pioglitazone. Dua mahasiswa Fakultas Farmasi Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala Surabaya (UKWMS) Felicia Tjokroaminjaya dan Adytya Dewanti terinspirasi untuk mengkreasikan pare menjadi bahan olahan yang nikmat yaitu <em>fruit pulp<\/em> pare. Inspirasi terbesar mereka datang dari melimpah ruahnya buah pare yang berpotensi sebagai antidiabetes. Berkat dorongan dari dosen pembimbing yaitu Farida Lanawati Darsono M.Sc dan drs. Didik Hasmono MS., Apt.; Felicia dan Adytya mendapat ide untuk mempelajari pengaruh buah pare terhadap obat sintetik pioglitazone dan metformin.<\/p>\n<p>Jenis-jenis buah pare di masyarakat terdiri dari banyak varietas seperti pare belut, pare putih dan \u00a0salah satunya yaitu pare hijau varietas pare ayam yang paling berpotensi sebagai antidiabetes karena mengandung zat aktif karantin dengan kadar yang paling tinggi. Proses yang dilakukan yaitu mengubah buah pare ayam tersebut menjadi bentuk minuman yang berkhasiat sebagai antidiabetes yaitu bentuk <em>fruit pulp<\/em> tanpa mengurangi efektivitasnya sebagai anti diabetes. Melalui penelitian, Adytya dan Felicia berhasil membuktikan bahwa dengan mengkonsumsi <em>fruit pulp<\/em> buah pare ternyata terbukti mampu menurunkan kadar gula darah, sehingga bisa mengurangi frekuensi\/ dosis pemberian obat anti diabetes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHal yang perlu diingat adalah; konsumsi <em>fruit pulp <\/em>buah pare ini tidak lantas menghentikan konsumsi obat sintetik. Obat-obatan sintetik tetap perlu diminum, dan konsumsi <em>fruit pulp <\/em>pare ini haruslah disesuaikan dengan kadar gula darah penderita diabetes tersebut. Apabila kadar gula darah sudah turun, maka frekuensi\/ dosis <em>fruit pulp <\/em>pare juga bisa dikurangi. Oleh sebab itu harus disertai dengan cek gula darah rutin dan konsultasi ke dokter,\u201d ujar Farida selaku pembimbing.<\/p>\n<p>Metode dalam penyiapan <em>fruit pulp<\/em> pare cukup mudah. Pertama pare hijau varietas ayam yang dipilih adalah pare muda dengan umur kurang lebih 15-20 hari dari munculnya bakal buah di pohon. Ukuran yang dipilih se-hasta orang dewasa dan warnanya harus hijau, jangan sampai memilih yang sudah kuning atau kecokelatan apalagi bijinya merah. Pare muda kemudian dicuci dengan air mengalir sampai bersih serta dihilangkan bagian gabusnya sehingga hanya tersisa daging buahnya saja. Selanjutnya daging buah pare dipotong kecil kemudian diblender hingga menjadi fruit pulp. Voila! Jadilah <em>fruit pulp<\/em> pare yang segar dan bisa segera dikonsumsi.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6086\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6086\" style=\"width: 900px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ukwms.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Adytya-dan-Felicia-tengah-mempraktekkan-proses-pembuatan-fruit-pulp-pare-scaled.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-6086 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/ukwms.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Adytya-dan-Felicia-tengah-mempraktekkan-proses-pembuatan-fruit-pulp-pare-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Adytya dan Felicia tengah mempraktekkan proses pembuatan fruit pulp pare\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6086\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Adytya dan Felicia tengah mempraktekkan proses pembuatan fruit pulp pare<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Terkait jumlah buah pare dalam bentuk <em>fruit pulp <\/em>yang akan dikonsumsi, perlu menyesuaikan dengan kondisi kadar gula penderita diabetes. Bila kadar gula dalam darah penderita termasuk tinggi; maka bisa mengonsumsi setengah dari buah pare yang sudah dipilih sesuai kriteria yang telah disebut sebelumnya dan diminum setiap hari. Sedangkan bila kadar gula darahnya tidak terlalu tinggi, cukup menggunakan seperempat buah saja dan tidak perlu dikonsumsi setiap hari.<\/p>\n<p>Adytya juga membagikan tips pengkonsumsian buah pare yang dikombinasi dengan obat sintetik, \u201c<em>Fruit pulp<\/em> pare dikonsumsi bersamaan dengan\u00a0 obat sintetik, dengan urutan <em>fruit pulp <\/em>pare yang diminum terlebih dahulu. <em>Fruit pulp<\/em> diberikan cukup satu kali dalam sehari meskipun frekuensi minum obat sintetik bisa lebih dari satu kali. Dosis dan frekuensi meminum <em>fruit pulp <\/em>pare bisa dikurangi bila kadar gula darah sudah menurun,\u201d tutur Adytya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pertama yang berhasil membuktikan bahwa <em>fruit pulp<\/em> buah pare bisa mengoptimalkan kinerja obat sintetik untuk menurunkan gula darah.
