Indonesia is the fifth-largest producer of digital startups globally, following the United States, India, the United Kingdom, and Canada. The rapid growth of start up startups in Indonesia indicates a remarkable potential for digital economic expansion. Easy internet access has also positioned Indonesia as Southeast Asia's largest digital economy market. This significant digital market potential and the swift growth of start up digital startups necessitate individuals with robust managerial skills, capable of leading companies effectively, and, importantly, possessing a deep understanding of technology within its business context.
To meet the demands of the business world and the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0), which requires graduates proficient in technology, Digital Business Management (DBM) program officially commenced student admissions in 2019. Both the IBM and DBM programs operate independently within the Management Study Program. The establishment of these two new programs is based on the Decree of the Board of Trustees of the Widya Mandala Surabaya Foundation No. 149/YWMS/SK/VII/2018, dated July 26, 2018.
