About Us

The Faculty of Pharmacy, Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya (UKWMS) was established on September 1, 1964. Currently, the UKWMS Faculty of Pharmacy organizes 2 Study Programs, namely: S1-Pharmacy Study Program (Accreditation A LAM-PTKes No. 0460/LAM-PTKes/Akr /Sar/VII/2017, July 29 2017) and Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program (Accreditation B L AM-PTKes No. 0461/LAMPTKes/Akr/Pro/VII/2017, July 29 2017). In scientific development, the Bachelor of Pharmacy Study Program has 2 areas of interest, namely Pharmacy Science and Technology (FST) and Clinical and Community Pharmacy (FKK).

The UKWMS Pharmacy Faculty won several grants or funds from the Government (DIKTI) for the development of learning processes through PHK-A2 (2006-2008), PHK PMP (2006), INDOPED Project (2016-2018). In the field of research, the Faculty of Pharmacy UKWMS has succeeded in obtaining several research grants, including from RISTEK research (2009-2012), Higher Education Excellence Basic research (2012-2019), Doctoral Grant research (2016), Competency Grant research (2016-2017) and Technology-Based Startup Prospective Company Grants - Kemenristekdikti (2018). The Faculty of Pharmacy also has three patents for research products for diabetic herbal preparations, a combination of bitter and salam, starch from banana peel waste for tablet fillers, and a combination of Sambiloto salam as an anti-inflammatory preparation. The starch innovation from banana peel waste and Healthy Greetings for Rheumatism were also listed as 2 of 108 Indonesian Innovations in 2016. In addition, there are many other patents in the cosmetics field.

Student achievements at the UKWMS Faculty of Pharmacy include: representing UKWMS for the VII Kopertis Level Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics Olympiad, representing Kopertis VII for the East Java Level Chemistry Olympiad (2017), Best II in Kopertis VII Level Chemistry Olympiad Competition (2010), several proposals won grants to the Entrepreneurial Student Program, PKM-P, PKM-GT (2015-2021), winner of the pharmaceutical debate competition (2013), Champion in several fields of the 2017 to 2020 National Pharmacomes level competition and, 2nd Hope Winner of the PTPN Scientific Writing Competition (2018 ), 2nd place in Beginner – Pharmacomes PCE Competition 2018, 1st place in the 2018 National level Scientific Poster Competition, 1st place in the Essay Competition at Pharm Fest 2019, 1st place in National Poster CAPSULE 2019, 2nd place in the 2019 CPSE Kofein Competition Airlangga University, 2nd place 2019 Pharmacomes Quiz Competition, 2nd Place in the 2019 Pharmacomes PCE (Patient Counseling Event) Competition, 1st Place in the National Essay Competition Bhakti Wiyata Kediri Institute of Health Sciences 2019, “Best Speaker” 2019 Golden Triangle Debate Competition, 1st Place in Women's Chess Golden Triangle 2019, 2nd place in the 2019 Jember University Faculty of Pharmacy Poster Competition, 3rd place in the 2019 BIMFI Health Article Writing Competition, 1st and 2nd place winners in the 2020 Avicena Poster Competition, Udayana University Bali Faculty of Pharmacy, 3rd place in the 2020 Brawijaya University Malang Sedative Poster Contest, 2nd place in the Poster Contest University of Indonesia Pharfest 2019, 3rd Place in the 2020 Airlangga University Coffee Counseling Competition, 3rd place in the Gajah Mada University Pharmacious 2020 poster competition, and many other achievements.

Mission

Organizing Pharmacy Higher Education to produce Bachelor and Pharmacist graduates who are academically superior, professional and have noble character through the implementation of:

  1. Accredited Education Programs as well as continuing education with a dynamic and conducive academic atmosphere for the learning process and development of students' knowledge, skills and noble character.
  2. Research and community service programs that are integrated with education, are competitive, and are state of the art, which are beneficial to the surrounding community and nationally.
  3. Development of a network of cooperation (networking) with stakeholders that support the achievement of the vision for academic and non-academic programs.
