Guidance and Counseling Education Study Program - Madiun Campus

The Guidance and Counseling Study Program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Widya Mandala Catholic University Madiun was established on September 20, 1960. The existence of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program is inseparable from the figures and figures of its founders, namely: Prof. Dr. Paul Jansen, CM. 

Currently, the Guidance and Counseling Study Program is part of FKIP Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya Madiun City Campus. Based on the Decree of the Minister of RISTEKDIKTI of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 442/KPT/I/2019, dated June 11, 2019, concerning the Unification Permit of UKWMM to UKWMS.

Vision

To become a Guidance and Counseling Study Program that can produce quality graduates, professional insight in the field of Guidance and Counseling and adaptive to change for the benefit of many people.

Mission

  1. Carry out teaching activities that are result-oriented, moral, have the right values, attitudes, respect for dignity, and professional knowledge insights.
  2. Able to implement academic, pedagogical, personal, and social competencies in formal education settings and conduct research and studies in the context of developing knowledge in accordance with their field of expertise.

In 2015, the Guidance and Counseling Study Program achieved B Accreditation ratified by BAN-PT Decree No. 1151/SK/BAN-PT/ Akred/S/XI/2015, dated November 14, 2015.

1. To become a professional guidance teacher/school counselor who is able to implement the principles of Caring, Commitment, and Enthusiasm in guidance and counseling services.
2. To be a person and educator with character and sensitive to the changing times.
3. Become a counseling teacher/school counselor who is able to implement pedagogical, professional, personal, and social competencies in formal, informal, and non-formal education settings.

Graduate Learning Outcome (CPL) 

CPL-1 Graduates are able to develop professional guidance and counseling services based on professional ethical values, PeKA, and national ideology.
CPL-2
Graduates are able to master the scientific concepts of guidance and counseling, the application of needs analysis of service targets using test and non-test instruments to develop comprehensive guidance and counseling programs.
CPL-3 Graduates are able to master the concepts, praxis of education management in general and guidance and counseling management in particular at various levels and units of education.
CPL-4 Graduates are able to master basic concepts and psychological theories to analyze various psychological symptoms in individuals, groups, and communities.
CPL-5 Graduates are able to apply logical, critical, systematic, creative, and innovative thinking in the context of developing information technology and communication skills globally in guidance and counseling services.
CPL-6 Graduates are able to facilitate learners' development, exploration, aspirations, and actualization in personal, social, learning, and career aspects.
CPL-7 Graduates are able to develop and organize learning that is constructive and adaptive to change
CPL-8 Graduates are able to implement and develop counseling approaches and techniques in various service settings.
CPL-9 Graduates are able to conduct research in the field of guidance and counseling and disseminate research results through seminars and publications.
CPL-10
Graduates are able to establish and develop cooperation (partnerships) with peers, colleagues, related agencies / institutions to realize guidance and counseling services in the scope of formal, informal and non-formal education.

The Guidance and Counseling Study Program curriculum has enabled students to play a role in research and community service and student involvement in the Kampus Merdeka Program, namely student exchanges.

The UKWMS Guidance and Counseling Education Study Program has two specialization fields, namely the Specialization in the Education Field (School Counseling) and the Non-Education Field (Out-of-School Counseling).

UKWMS Guidance and Counseling Study Program has 60 years of experience in graduating Bachelor of Guidance and Counseling. The lecturers of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program are educators who have the quality, credibility and certification of educators. The graduates of the BK Study Program are absorbed in the world of work as BK Teachers / School Counselors, both in the Private / Public sector. Have trust and strategic positions (school principal, counseling coordinator, school supervisor).

BK graduates can have a career as:

  1. School counselor/Counseling teacher in schools (kindergarten/primary school/junior high school/middle school/vocational school), which is increasingly needed.
  2. Counselors outside of school (hospitals, social institutions).
  3. Early childhood consultant in KB, TK/RA, TPA, SD in government and private institutions.
  4. Family/marriage counselor.
  5. Vocational/career counselor.
  6. Post traumatic/post drug rehabilitation counselor.
